Property on Lock Box Easy To Show True or False


I have a client and also a dear friend who needs to move from his condo to another one . We are on a mission to find a first floor condo . Recently two have come on the market . The heat here was sweltering . We went to look at the first unit which had a lock box on it .  No problem opening it but the keys would not open the door.  I thought maybe it was me as it was so hot my clothes were sticking to me it was 96 degrees out and the dew point was 75 .

My client said let me try the keys . I must admit I am not always the best person getting keys to work .. These keys just went around with no click . Tried pushing our bodies against the doors . No way this door was  opening . Okay on to the next



We had the instructions that said Lock Box was on the porch . Now we are walking around the building . There is no number for the unit that we are seeing that has a porch . The heat is getting to both of us and we say this is ridiculous . He has an appointment and so do I . We both decided  I would contact the agents and make new arrangements for a showing .



Several hours later the second agent contacted me . Yes he sent me a picture of the lock box . It still did not have an address  on the porch but I recognized the unit by a table a chairs that were outside the unit that allowed us access to the main entrance  once you open the lock box . 

These were not the instructions I would have given to where a lock box was but I was not the listing agent


The first unit we went to show where the door would not open well the agent contacted me the next day . Apparently the door does not open so they left the sliders open on the patio . In these condos it is hard to tell just whose patio belongs to who . I asked her when she thought the door might be fixed . There is an on site maintenance at the condo community . She told me she would let me know .


That was last week I still have not heard from her . When we looked in the window the condo was in disarray  and not one the client was interested in anyway . Why not tell us the door does not work sliders are open  when we made the appointment to begin with



The buyer told me the agents didn't seem to care if the property was shown or not and felt it was very unprofessional on their part .  They had wasted his time and was not happy about the instructions that were given he is  a retired high school teacher with a masters degree and would have written them clearly an precisely


I know when I put my RE/MAX lock box on a property the directions to find the box are clearly stated if it is not on the doorknob


Both of these agents were not what you would call your neighborhood agents 


When you say a property is easy to show you really should mean easy to show and make instructions clear
