How important is Service? In Real Estate and Car Sales PT 2

  1. Will your customers stay loyal without good service? 
  2. How important is service?
  3. Will they refer their friends and family to you?

I found out the answer to these questions of course while selling Real Estate over the last 25 years ;but especially in the last few months while trying to make a decision on purchasing a car.I think as sales people sometimes we are the worst buyers.I know I am.I do not like making decisions.

Like many buyers and sellers I find someone I trust and stick with them.My salesman/manager left the dealership I lease my cars with and went to Jaguar.I did not like the sales people at the dealership he had left. They were not the same caliber as him.Shall we say not as trustworthy and pulled some shady dealings.I will leave it at that.

I called Tom Burton.He is now at Jaguar.I explained to him I was not happy.He referred me to another Tom.This was Tom Palmer the manger at Mercedes in Fort Washington called  West German.Tom was a true  professional.He listened to my wants and needs.He helped me make a wise decision which was to purchase my current car. It is a Mercedes 2005 -240C  4 Wheel drive with only 28,000 miles ,It has a navigation system Bose radio and DVD changer .The only thing missing was a blue tooth.The car had been wired for a phone so this was a simple device to put in.

They handled all the paperwork and financing with Mercedes for me.Detailed the car inspected it put in the blue-tooth,so now I can drive hands free.They also gave me a curtsy car for 3 days..A brand new Mercedes I might add..

  1. How Important is service? I found it to be the most important factor
  2. Will customers stay loyal without it? if they do not value my business why would I come back
  3. Will they refer their friends and family? I most certainly will .. when I am ready for a new car I will go back to West German..and I also will get my car serviced there

When you give people good service they do appreciate it. I want to Thank Tom Palmer and all the people at West German Mercedes for a wonderful buying experience. THANK YOU! and Tom Burton for the referral

Hannah - I would return to Mercedes in a heartbeat - their service has always been stellar.

But this points out an important lesson for us in our own business so we make sure we are treating our clients in the same way we want to be treated. There is nothing like being on the other side of the fence to truly understand the perspective of the buyer.

Like i said before, you deserve a nice drive and service is all the customer is needing, they can buy the car or house from anyone =)

Service is number one to be sure.  The majority of people do appreciate good service and will shop at the same store time and again.  A lot of brands are built more on service than on quality. If you can get both, that is a real winning combination.
