Speechless Sunday: No Empty Nester at this Delaire Landing Condo Phila Pa .This beautiful Dove has made a nest in my hanging flower pot on my balcony from last summer. I neglected to take it down. This is the second season this bird has returned to my condo balcony to nest at Delaire Landing in Phila Pa .Last year  there was no  nest on my balcony at my  Delaire Landing Condo. The Dove did not come back. The previous year the nest was on my small cafe table. I was never privy to look! Whenever I opened the door the dove flew away. This time I was allowed close up and personal .I was shocked and Speechless this Sunday. I was allowed close enough to get this fantastic picture.

This Spring there are no empty nesters at Delaire Landing Phila Pa
Does anyone know what kind of Dove this is ?

Are these your planters, Hannah?  She looks so comfortable.

She looks like she has made herself right at home.  Wonder if she would be willing to pay part of your condo fee?

Hi Hannah, She is a morning dove. From my research, they mate for life and will often return seek out high places to have their babies. For 5 years, a dove would show up to make her home in either my hanging plant or a birdhouse planter I had on my front porch. I have pictures somewhere. It was tough when she camped out right next to the front door because everyone had to tip toe past her and make sure the door didn't slam. It did amaze me that she would let me get close to her and take pictures. I even had pictures of the 3 baby birds when the eggs hatched. It was so adorable! If I find my pictures, I will post them.

Hannah,

That dove really fills out her space. Might need a bigger pot. :)

Hannah,

That looks like a lovable, lonesome dove, gentle and sweet. I'm glad she has a safe place to live and that you're looking out for her.

She looks very cozy in her new condo-nest! Hope you get some shots of the little ones soon.

Hannah, you know you're not replacing that pot for at least the nest 2 months. What you see will be just as pretty as the flowers that you might put there.
