Friday's Foto: Torresdale Accident Pole Falls State Rd Phila Pa 19114.This was a scary incident especially because my car was parked not far from the poll. PECO crews and Comcast crews worked all day and night to remove the fallen pole and replace it with a new one. There was no power outage and I am not sure what the source of power it supplied .Thankfully no one was hurt .There was a car accident up the way perhaps that was what caused the poll to fall. The fallen poll was replaced and put  back up on State Rd Torresdale Phila Pa 19114 and the crews are still checking things out .

Those poles are very heavy and could kill anyone on the ground or in a car not to mention the damage or electrical shock. Good thing it worked out ok Hannah. Freak stuff.

Hannah - glad to hear no one was hurt, and your car survived!  One more reason underground utitilities are great!

Hannah the wires set fire to my neighbors car the storm we had on the 29th. Shame because she was returning home the next day from vacation.

Glad your car escaped any damage.  Always have to watch out for live wires when a power pole comes down.  Have a great weekend.

Hannah, the interesting news is that you had an excellent view. The better news was that you didn't see anybody get hurt.

ED .. I Could not see anyone from my view ;but I think that down the road was an accident where someone did get hurt ;but don't know for sure . Thanks for your concern

Mitchell  Watching it was very scary! You are so right .I took some night pictures but they were too dark .I saw trucks I have only seen kids play with huge working at the scene .It was fascinating .Thank you for your concern.

You always wonder about these freak accidents.  A tree fell the other day and just missed the house.  Glad no one was hurt here.

Makes a good case for undergrounding utilities. Many of our older neighborhoods are in the process of undergrounding utilities, many already done. It’s nice to drive through a historic neighborhood and not see all the utility visual pollution.
