Here is my recipe that is easy and delicious it takes about 15 minutes from start to finish

Rinse 1 bag of fresh cranberries (12oz)

1 cup apple cider

1 cup of brown sugar

mix apple cider and sugar stir together on stove heat stir in cranberries bring to slow boil lower heat cook about 10-12 minutes stirring occasional remove from heat let cool

There it is put in a container you have a delicious homemade cranberry sauce that is yummy

you will never eat it from a can again ...

you can substitute water for the apple cider it is still good add a dash of cinnamon and small slice of lemon if desired

Happy Thanksgiving to you and you Family

I have always made my own sauce! But, I would just add a splash of balsamic vinegar and a pinch of nutmeg as my secret ingredients.  I am making sauce tomorrow and will use apple cider to try something new...... I love cranberry sauce on toast over the Holidays!  Thanks for sharing!

Hi Hannah.... got my sauce made today..... I am always experimenting.... here's what I came up with:

2 bags cranberries/washed, 1/2 c. apple cider vinegar, 1&1/2c. water, 1/2tsp. salt, 2&1/4c. organic sugar, and 2 shakes nutmeg. Then because I had some nopali fruit ( cactus pears), I peeled 6 of them, discard the seeds and added the fruit and juice. The color it added was unbelievable! The flavor of the cranberry sauce was excellent.... so pleased with this season's "batch". to answer your question about the balsamic vinegar, because it is so potent, I would add about a TBL. to 2 bags of crans. just to give it some tang, and I always like to have a "secret ingredient" to my recipes!  Try the shakes of nutmeg.... just a "hint of flavor"!
