Next week I have a settlement after which I am getting a new all in one computer. I am going to break down and put my old faithful to rest . It is like getting rid of a dear old friend; but my friend has brain freeze I feel terrible ;but it is time to retire this computer..Time to buy a new computer

Know exactly what you mean - sometimes our computers just need to go to computer heaven ( or the other place)! Had to do that with mine just a couple of months ago. Good luck with your new computer, and may the learning curve be quick and easy!

Hannah - after changing computer after every 3 years, and very quickly getting the same old crap again and again, I finally decide to stop the cycle and bought a Mac.

Boy, what a difference.

And no, I do not have any plans to replace it anytime soon.

Hannah, once you're zooming around on the internet with your new computer you will forget all about your old one. The time has come to move on.

Been there, done that.  We upgraded our 2 computers just when Windows 7 first came out.  Then I did a software upgrade on my graphics card, and that's when the ....... hit the fan!  I have continuous probs with Windows explorer After only 18 months, I may have to buy a new desktop, but keep the 24" screen.  My friends told me to go with MAC!

I will be in the market for a mac later in the year. Shockingly enough, my 425 dollar Sam's all in one has lasted 18 months.

So do tell, what are you choosing for your next PC?  I think I might be in the market myself soon.

Kathy ..HP has some good deals on the Omni duel processer has everything I need plus you can build on it .I have to sit down with my son in law and discuss it.I thing I am sticking with HP

Good Morning Hannah, How nice to hear from you this morning. I hope life is being good to you and for sure a new computer sounds like it is in order. When this happened to me last I converted to Apple and it has been a great relationship and I am in my fifth year. But this next year will be when I get a new faster one and use the old one as a second monitor. When I started I needed to have Windows on the back end and now our MLS, forms etc is available to the Mac and I will never migrate again to windows. With the iMac, the iPad and iPhone, I couldn't be happier and feel fully integrated . I wish you the same good luck with whatever you choose and know that the new faster speed will give you a new accomplished feeling. It was great to hear from you and I need to keep up with your posts better.

William  Nice to hear from you also.. we do seem to drift sometime from old friends .  The Mac maybe next time around ..I have an android phone and i am not 100% sure that our MLS is Mac friendly;but with the Iphone being so popular It propably is . The computer I have now is an HP and has lasted for over 10 years so I believe that is so route I will go ..What is that saying about teaching old dogs new tricks..It will be hard enough learning windows 7

It would be great seeing your comments on my posts again ..you have been missed

Happy Fourth ! hope to see your Ships this Year !

Hannah - I just bought an HP and I love it. My old computer was having some "issues" even though it was only 5 years.

Hanna - there comes a time when what we have no longer serves our purpose well and it is indeed time to retire it and go forth with a newer version ..... however for a person who simply wants the latest and greatest whatever they decide to buy will be out of date by the time they get it home

Kathy How true ..I just don't want to sit here and play with this darn thing forever ..but I have a feeling I will have problems whatever I do ...:0)

Hannah--I bought new Samsung computer a few weeks ago.  Ugh! the learning curve is challenging, but I am determined to conquer it or it will conquer me.  Good luck.

I made my choice An HP touch screen all in one . I am afraid of the same problem . There isn't any tower in this one ..just a big screen you touch ..it does come with a mouse and a wireless keyboard ..if you wish to use it ..but it is just like a big  touch screen like my phone ..It does not have XP just windows 7 and an upgrade to windows 8 when it comes out .. but you just plug this in and it is ready (or so they say )
