HelpfulHannahs Tips for How to Clean Shower Doors & Tiles

Your house is going up for sale and you cleaned it up perfectly; but you still need to use the shower and bathroom everyday. How do you keep the glass doors  and tiles clean and spot-free? Just keeping the shower and bathtub is a challenge

Here are a few helpful tips :

Easy Ways To Clean Shower Doors & Tiles

  • Spray Rain-X on the glass doors after cleaning. Use a soft towel to wipe it down until dry. Rain-X can be found in automotive shops or departments. It's used for helping to keep windshields free of rain. So why not shower doors

  • Use a dishwasher rinsing agent like Jet-dry to spray the tiles. Water and soap scum will sheet off the walls. Slather it on a sponge and swipe it on the glass. Be cautious: this stuff is strong, wear gloves and protect your eyes. Test on a small area first.

  • Use softener sheets to clean the glass doors. Wet them and rub the door and rinse.

  • Use a squeegee for cleaning water off walls and doors. Keep one in the shower so everyone can do it after they shower

  • Use 1 part water and 1 part white vinegar in a spray bottle; allow the solution to set for 10 minutes; wipe off with clean water in a bucket; wipe with a clean towel. dampen a clean cloth with baby oil and wipe all the walls and doors.

Below is a video with another recipe for cleaning it is suppose to work wonders for cleaning tubs and showers I hope you find it helpful

Great tips Hannah. I never knew these products would work and although I'm not selling my house, I will use these ideas for my own 2 bathrooms.

So cool, I used to use Rain-X on my 1957 Chevy...it had no wipers for years.

Great tips, fun and done!

Good morning Hannah.  My wife uses ZEP cleaner on almost everything.  Haven't found anything that beats it yet.

Hi Hannah... not that soap and scum get a chance to build up on my tiles, but I'd not heard of the jet-dry solution before. Will remember it for clients.

Hannah, these are great tips and I know first hand how well they work. Letting the soap scum build up is never a good idea. Takes hours to clean if one doesn't stay on top of it!

This is very helpful information.  Showers are my least favorite place to clean.

Belinda Spillman  The tip in the video seems to be a very popular one I think I am going to try it . I am going to wait until I run out of the expensive brand I purchased first .

Hi Hannah - Good tips. Mary has been a beast about keeping the showers clean ever since we got married - I'm in a lot of trouble when I don't squeegee : )

Posted by Dick Greenberg, Northern Colorado Residential Real Estate (New Paradigm Partners LLC) 6 months ago

Nina Hollander  I love YouTube and you will be amazed at the information you can find there

Dick Greenberg  I keep a sponge and a spray cleaner  I just spray and wipe clean while I am still in the shower .  I am going to try the solution in the video when I am done with the current brand . It seems to be a favorite on Pintrest

We got special glass treatment in the factory on our shower door and also on our windows so they will repel water spotting. We do still keep a squeegee in the shower and almost never have to clean it.
