The Dirt on Color of Summer Flowers and Green Thumbs

flower cleo

I live in a Condo so I have a window sill garden . At one time Orchids were a plant that I could not grow then suddenly I got the hang of growing Orchids . Now I have a window sill full of Orchids. When I go in my second bedroom to see my Orchids Cleo runs in no matter what she is doing to check out what is going on .We talk to the plants and politely ask for flowers .I take my hand wave it and say Swish flowers please Cleo looks at me in amazement

The Orchid in the picture that is blooming was dying at Produce Junction last year . I picked it up for a dollar but my heart was in love. I was shocked when it bloomed this year So far it is the only one blooming but another one has just spouted .So more blooms to come .

When I want flowers I go to my favorite flower store which is also my favorite place to buy vegtables ,fruit and herbs .Produce Junction located 2901 Knights Rd in Bensalem Pa  . You get great deals on flowers there they are really beautiful . I sometimes wonder why people spend so much money for the same flowers at other stores.  There was an Orchid in a store they were selling for $29 at one store at Produce Junction the same Orchid was $7 . I told the woman  . She didn't care and bought it anyway . You can get a colorful bouquet for $6

Well Fall is on it's way and the colors of the trees and flowers will be changing soon .

Let's enjoy beautiful colors of summer .

Hi Hannah

What wonderful flowers, and Cleo seems to enjoy them. Hopefully she doesn't nibble - our cats seem to think all flowers in the house are there to be chewed on!

Hi Hannah - Nice window orchid garden! Mary has a knack for them as well, and we always have a bunch of them in a variety of states - blooming, resting and keeping us guessing.

I'm looking at the pretty blue flowers in your last photo.  I've never seen anything quite like them.  I have an orchid that was given to me for my birthday a few years ago.  I actually have had a little luck keeping it alive, and having it bloom.  I overwatered in the past, and killed a bunch of them off.

Hi Hannah --- even in a home without a typical garden space, you show you can bring the outdoors inside.  Nice photos.
