helpfulhannahs.com

Homemade Cranberry sauce quick easy and delicious . I am Thankful to have this recipe to share with you .  It is a very simple recipe that I make  every year .

Can you believe Thanksgiving is almost here ? Yes Thanksgiving will be here next week and Debbie Reynolds  asked us to share things we were grateful for . I am grateful to share this simple recipe with you

When you taste this Cranberry sauce with or without the raspberries you will be glad you took a few extra minutes to make it . It tastes so much better then sauce out of a can

Fresh Cranberry sauce will stay fresh for months. It is like a preserve. It is also good on toast or a bagel way after Thanksgiving Day . It is also delicious on ice cream  If you do not have raspberries you can use the same recipe just omit the raspberries it will still be delicious . Here is the recipe I hope you enjoy it .

Rinse cranberries 1 bag 12 oz and raspberries small container  in colander pick out any bad ones

1 cup of apple cider (may substitute water )

1 cup of brown sugar (may substitute white sugar )

Heat the  apple cider and brown sugar in medium sauce pan until a low boil stir until smooth  add cranberries and raspberries bring to boil again  lower heat  cook for ten minutes  watch carefully and still occasionally ..That is it remove from heat .

I also add a slice of lemon

That is it

Let it cool  Put into containers It will gel as it cools

Enjoy Quick Easy and Delicious

Happy Thanksgiving you will be Thankful you tried this !

I am thankful to share this

I think I like the idea of adding the raspberries and I can't wait to see how it will taste.

Posted by Joe Pryor, REALTOR® - Oklahoma Investment Properties (The Virtual Real Estate Team) about 1 year ago

Sounds really good, Hannah.  I make something similar, only instead of raspberries, I add fresh apple and orange tidbits, along with a little Triple Sec.

Joe Pryor  Please let me know how you like it

Myrl Jeffcoat  Sounds delightful nothing like fresh crandberry sauce

Hannah,

I tried your recipe when you last published it.  It was tasty, and I was glad that you used Driscoll's rasberries.  We were friends with one of the sons...They have fields of strawberries here and down in Oxnard which is 30 minutes south of us.  A

I want to make this and will do it for Thanksgiving. If I don't ruin it and everyone loves it I will make again for Christmas.

Hannah= I cannot think of cranberry sauce without thinking of my mother and my uncle. Every Thanksgiving, my mother would make home made cranberry sauce but we would also have the cranberry sauce that came out of a can. (I have no idea why) My uncle would tease my mother about liking the kind out of a can much better.

For whatever reason, I have never been a big fan of cranberry sauce, but yours with raspberry sounds interesting and I would give it a taste for sure!

Posted by Brian England, MBA, GRI, REALTOR® Real Estate in East Valley AZ (Arizona Focus Realty) about 1 year ago

John Pusa  try it  everyone will think you are a master chef

Debbie Reynolds  It is impossible to ruin . So easy  no worries

Kathy Streib  Have to laugh but there are some people who do like canned better  just like there are some people who would like to have canned orange juice rather then fresh squeezed

Thank you for your input

Well Hannah knowing me you know I modified your recipe a bit used half a cup of  apple cider & half a cup of  fresh squeezed orange juice and about a tea spoon of orange zest and two teaspoons of fresh squeezed lemon juice.... we shall see what the 'boss' thinks when she tastes it:))))Endre

Posted by Endre Barath, Jr., Realtor - Los Angeles Home Sales 310.486.1002 (Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices) 12 months ago

I am sure it turned out amazing Endre Barath, Jr.  one year I used pineapple juice with  crushed pineapple instead of raspberries and it was really good .In fact one of the best . Take the basics and modify .So glad it was a hit and a new addition to your menue . ..My youngest grandson Aidan is spending a few days with me and keeping me busy . Unfortunately we are both under the weather .  We are watching lots of movies and having fun .  His Mom and Dad are still shopping

Happy Holiday catch up soon

Hannah - this looks delicious - I always make a cranberry sauce with red wine and cinnamon stick and orange peel - but I like to add another sauce to the table- some times it is a cranberry sauce with jalapeno peppers - this looks like a delicious alternative

Lise Howe  I love it and make it every year . I also make one with pineapple juice and crushed pineapples that is really amazing . Try it you may like it .I have put cinnamon stick in this recipe it works very well . Endre Barath, Jr.  tried this recipe and I believe he added orange peel . (see comment 31 )

I had never thought to put raspberries with the cranberries to make my sauce.  I have always chopped up apple instead.  I'm going to try a batch with the berries next time.  I also add cinnamon sticks and Triple Sec to my sauce while cooking.
