Friday's Fotos : Snow Bitter Thermal Deep Freeze

Today I woke up to snow. I was surprised as a friend of mine argued with me and said it was not cold out and it was not going to snow.

The temperature was high of 17 degrees with wind chill of zero .

That is cold for me.  Everyone I spoke to said it was bitter cold out.

Wednesday you may have heard I drove home in a snow squall. Could not see in front of me. Thankfully I had just had four new tires put on and the roads were freshly salted. My hands gripped the steering wheel tight my teeth were clenched the only thing I could see were the car lights in front of me. The snow stopped when I was two traffic lights from home .

Unless I have something important to do I am staying home

I am so glad you made it through that storm.  I used to fear going through fog.  Fortunately I have not had to deal with that recently.

I heard that if it gets too cold, it can't snow.  I don't know if that is true.

Temps forecasted to the hit the 30's and 40's here and snow will be where it "belongs" on the grass and not roads and sidewalks...!

That squall was crazy, did not last long, but it was not something to be out in driving. Glad you made it home safely.

Hi Hannah - it seems to me that your idea of "hibernating of sorts" is a good strategy these days. Keep as warm as possible and stay safe.

Posted by Michael Jacobs, Los Angeles Pasadena 818.516.4393 about 2 months ago

That looks and sounds like bitter cold to me, I am glad that you made it safely home given that you had to drive through a snow squall.  I don't ever want to be in a snow squall, that sounds way too cold, haha.

Not good weather to be out driving in, Hannah. Glad you made it home and I think you are smart to stay put until things improve.

Good morning Hannah.  I think it sounds like the perfect day to stay at home.  Most things can wait.

Hannah,

We are staying home with all the rain that is coming down. The flash storm warning is gone, and we are going to head down to our local Albertson's to pick up some additional ingredients for lunch...Enjoy hibernation...A

William Feela  My cousin lives in Minnesota it is much colder there she was trying to tell me how good for your health it was to be outdoors -I held the phone away from ear until she was done talking

Endre Barath, Jr.  Really bad timing on my part.  Today sunny 37 degrees big difference Tuesday will be 60 degrees.R really wacky isn't it?

Sally K. & David L. Hanson  It was a freak think it came and went. The snow and the bitter cold is starting to move out

Thank you for your kind thoughts

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543  Really bad timing on my part

Michael Jacobs  Today seems to be much nicer I may go out but think I will wait until tomorrow when it will soar up to 45 degrees

Brian England  I do not mind the 20's or thirties but when the winds are blowing the wind chills go below zero it takes your breath away

Thank you for kind comments

Hannah, That's absolutely to much snow for me, but I love your beautiful photos of the snow around your home. It gives me a great reason to stay inside and stay out of the cold. Wishing you the Best in 2019!

Hi Hannah... just looking at those photos made me start shivering! I refuse to drive when the weather gets like that... and not just here in Charlotte... but I did, as well, when I lived in NYC.

Posted by Nina Hollander, Your Charlotte/Ballantyne/Waxhaw/Fort Mill Realtor (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage ) about 2 months ago

Hannah, those photos are beautiful, but only if you are able to stay inside!  Hope it is warming up for you!

It is not the cold Nina Hollander as I like the cold weather. It was the dangerous road conditions that frighten me. Today it is warm 50 degrees

Joan Cox  Yes it has warmed up 50 degrees today

Thank you for your concerns

We are thankful for a couple of days of mild weather. Much of the snow has melted.

Roy Kelley  It was sixty-six degrees today this is the kind of weather people get sick in

Wow Hannah you got caught in that snow squall...lucky you got home okay.  Saw on news that evening that there was a pile up in Berks County during that squall.

It was bitter cold.  Nice to have warmed up before the next cool down!  Stay warm!  I'm actually seeing things popping up in by flower bed!

Gloria Todor  I don't know if Mother Nature is confused I know I am. One day it is freezing and the next day it is warm and balmy ready to get a sun tan. It is Pneumonia weather be careful and dress appropriately

Grant Schneider  Here also although the predicted rain.

Thank you both for your comments
