Philadelphia Real Estate Helpful News and Views : "Book Smart" Painted by Paul Freed impression by HelpfulHannah

"Book Smart" Painted by Paul Freed impression by HelpfulHannah

My friend Endre Barath, Jr. is sponsoring a contest this month. He wants our interpretation on a picture of  a Painting by Paul Freed. Now I do not want my friend Kathleen Daniels to think I am a know it all as I am not one of those people far from it. I have always loved books and was an Art Major in School. My first job was as an art designer. I designed embroidery emblems. I made the sample designs. Then they went to the clients if it was approved it went to another department where these designers made it for the machines to sew.  I also would walk to the local library and get my favorite books to read. When I was a child my parents would force me to go out and play with children and stop reading during the day. Be social my Mother would say.

My older sister Sarae would take me to my favorite place the Philadelphia Art Museum  While we were there we would spend the day exploring at least once a month.  it was a surreal place to learn about art. A place I continued to share with friends and also my children.

So let us discuss this gentleman in the photo. He is a young man. The books on his head represent his studious mind that he is also trying to keep himself balanced in life. He is wearing eyeglasses one is fogged and the other unusually clearly causing him to see life in different ways. An impressive young man. He is well dressed perhaps a little uncomfortable in that tight collar.

The Artist wanted that cigar in the mouth to show youth and the style of these young men. They sip Chivas Regal Scotch in cigar bars and discuss worldly matters.

Well, Endre that is how I see this young man I hope you enjoyed my story and my entry to your challenge

I am enjoying reading all of these posts this morning. You have added another creative story to the enjoyment. Thanks Hannah. I need to put on my thinking cap - or is it a book on my head??

Ron and Alexandra Seigel  Yes feeling much better and expecting snow today. It was a quick fun post after my last very serious post.

Lottie Kendall  I just finished posting on your entry. Seemed like a lifetime ago that I designed.

Debb - Once you start it is really quite easy. Just stare at the picture and write what you see. It really is fun.

Happy Sunday to my dear friends

I'm glad I have several more days to contemplate that painting, Hannah!  I know if you put several artists in front of the mighty Oak, they will all paint it differently.  And, I suspect the interpretations of their paintings will be as different as those viewing them.

Myrl Jeffcoat yes indeed and you are a very wise lady. The mind will see many different things when looking at the same picture. Looking forward to seeing where your mind goes

Happy Sunday

Sheri Sperry - MCNE®  It was just a fun post. My previous post was serious

Bob "RealMan" Timm  That was a funny post and reminded me of young men I knew as I told Sheri, my previous post was more analytic

Thank you both for the compliment much appreciated

Cute, sista!  I think we all go through life with one eye fogged over at times, don't we?

Oh, I love your take on this one, Hannah! You know, that's what I love about art - there are as many interpretations as the number of people making them!

I hope you have a great week!

Debe Maxwell, CRS I wonder what the artist Paul Freed would think if he read all these impressions of his dynamic impressionistic abstract.

Have a wonderful Week also my friend

I like your interpretation of the photo Hannah. Very different from where my mind wandered.  I also liked reading about your trips to the Art Museum!

I know that you definitely have more knowledge about art than I do, but the thing I like about art is that it seems to always be interpreted differently by all that see it.

Hannah Williams - What a fascinating background you have as an Art designer! I never knew that before! You are filled with talent!!!

I also loved books as a kid. As a matter of fact, the first time my mother gave me money to buy anything I wanted in the Toy Store, I picked out a storybook. She kept repeating herself, are you sure you want that book? It's not a toy, you know? No matter what she said, I just had to have my storybook.

I really like your interpretation of the painting. I thought you did a great job telling an original story that fit the picture so well!

Dear Miss Hannah,  You are definitely not a know it all by interpretation of what that means.

I like your perspective on the photo.  This is sure a fun challenge. I am enjoying reading the posts.  Enjoyed reading yours!

Hannah Williams ... Libraries are a special place and how many judge a town or city. Art is all around us right?

Hannah, I like your interpretation of  this abstract art. I do not know much about art but I must say I agree with your interpretation.
