Produce Junction Finding Surreal Bromeliad Plant in Bensalem Pa

helpfulhannahs.com

Stopped at Produce Junction in Bensalem Pa to buy some veggies to make corn beef and cabbage. When I walked in there were carrots and celery which I like to add. Picked up some baby red potatoes when I spotted this woman with an unusually beautiful plant. I was so taken with the color. We started a conversation I asked her what it was and how to take care of it. There was a bit of a language barrier but we did communicate quite well.

She guided me to where the plants were the sign read bromeliad. No light she said. Flower in middle put water every few months. Sometimes bring in the bathroom when you take shower. I picked one up and talked to it. She said good you talk it will grow for you.

I Loved the colors and decided to look it up on Google when I got home  No one who worked there knew how to care for the plant except this kind lady.

Well only problem was I forgot the cabbage and onions. By the way, this plant was $6.00 it is a beauty and quite a large plant. Thank goodness for Google and YouTube

Here is a video on the plant I purchased Cleo does seem to like it too.

Hannah,

If you ever come to visit in Santa Barbara, we have a bromeliad garden at Lotus land that is the most amazing place.  Every variety you can imagine lives there.  I love your choice.  A

How gorgeous is that plant, Hannah? Of course, I'd never buy it as I'd forget to water it for weeks at a time!

Ron and Alexandra Seigel  If we do the AR meet-up in November who knows? I did so enjoy picking this plant I moved one of Cleo's favorite plants but had to put it back as she could not reach it and was a little out of sorts. Glad you liked my selection.

Happy Wednesday

Nina Hollander  No worries I think this is the plant for you. Just a little water in the middle well once every three months or so. That is it all done.

I have a plant, Hannah, that's lasted now for 13 years... I don't know how, because I probably forget to water it for 3 months at a time!

Hi Hannah, this is a lovely choice. And yes, thank goodness for Google. Ha.  Are you anxious for St.Patrick's Day with your corned beef and cabbage?

Bromeliads are among my favorite plants.  I find them so very exotic appearing!

Myrl Jeffcoat  I have not read up enough yet but for the past couple years have any had orchids. They stopped blooming and I am crushed, saw this plant and loved the colors.

So vibrant looking Hannah., and little care. I like it! BTW, it's happened to me too...go to the stores and forget what I actually went there for. Like yesterday. Needed milk...Forgot to get it!

Endre Barath, Jr.  Never saw one like that before. Made a new friend in the store and a beautiful plant to add color to the room.

Sheila., Went out the next day and picked up a half of rye, the cabbage and onions were on sale at Lou's farmers market. This colorful plant enchanted me. By the way making a list is useless as I forget the list

Have a great day

I can see that being intrigued with the plant and communication about it would make you forget the veggies.

Hi Joe, I was so excited about the plant and its beauty just wanted to get home

Too funny. "Bring in bathroom with you". I wouldn't subject such a beautiful plant to my lack of plant care skills. I hope it lives long and thrives.

HI Hannah Williams -  I learned an awful lot about Bromeliads today.  what an interesting plant. I have a couple of indoor tropical plants and the main care is balancing the sunlight.

Hannah I can't wait for Spring to get here so we are surrounded by beautiful colors like this plant.

Jane Peters  This plant does not need much care it seems. I don't know if it would survive seeing me naked

Sheri Sperry - MCNE®  I just loved that video as it the exact plant I purchased

George Souto  So thrilled we change the clocks Saturday night. The colors in this plant are Spring

Thank you for your kind words

Bromeliads are great plants, they like humidity, and you seem to have the right idea from your new friend on how to care for it. Enjoy, the colours are beautiful.
