Philadelphia Real Estate Helpful News and Views : So How Was Your Day Today ?

So How Was Your Day Today ?

What a day! I started out checking the status of a package I sent back via UPS. Then  I went on my Actice Rain Blog where ther was a video playing of the new movie "Yesterday" coming to movie theaters on June 28th in the corner. Although I enjoyed the video. I knew I did not put them there and there was a problem.

Not having the time to fix it at home I packed up my computer and off to the office I went. Xfinity does give me Norton Anti Virus for free. Many people have told me not to depend on any free service but I will tell you they put me through to Norton.. I allowed the tech to take control of my computer. Within minutes he found the problems and had me watch as he deleted the main problem and walked me through potential problems

One of the main ones which as a blogger I have been enjoying and our Sheri Sperry - MCNE®  wrote a post on was Grammarly . I asked if I could keep it as I was a horrid speller and it really helped me. He very kindly said ask Siri. We should remove it. So I had to say good-bye to this program .There was also an extension from UPS. Then he asked me if I used go to meeting I emphatically said 'Yes" he told me I could keep that. He was wonderful and fixed my computer in very short time thank goodness. He was fantastic.

Well that did take half the day but the worse information is the City of Philadelphia's computers have crashed. Yes ,where we get our titles for our Real Estate Closings. So now out settlements for June are on hold until they get this problem straightened out. I will keep everyone up to date

So How Was Your Day Today?

Hi Hannah!  Our Florida Realtors can go on our computers remotely and fix issues, but Xfinity sounds like a great alternative!  Today, I took off and took Maurice to the doctor for the removal of his third skin cancer (life in the FL Sun)

Hi Hannah- We have Xfinity and have been very happy with it. And I've been using Grammarly for several years. Did the technician say why or how it caused a problem?? I hope that the computers for the city of Philadelphia get fixed.

Kathy Streib  it was not what caused the problem but he did say this extension leaves our computer open to Future attacks. Believe me I miss it and it has not even been a full day but it is better to be safe. We as Realtors have been receiving warnings of major hackings. So I have taken his advice and heeded his warnings . As far as the City computers it is really affecting closings of Real Estate . We are trying to stay optimistic

Myrl Jeffcoat  It is diffecult to find good service so when you do find someone who does provide good service you should treasure it.

Thank you both for your kind comments

Oh my goodness, good to know about Grammerly, I almost got it. Technology is so great, until it's not.  Hope things calm down for you on the tech side.

Some days are just messy, others are grand. I think your turn for a simple, easy day is coming up.

I took yesterday off - high school graduation day for our youngest granddaughter who is spending these next 3 days with us.

Hannah good to hear that you got your computer issues solved.

Philadelphia got hit hard by hacker last month which has caused us to not fund any loans there until the issues are correct.  This has caused a huge problem for Buyers and Sellers.

Hi Hannah - computer problems always take time.  Tech support people are usually good.

Lottie Kendall My grandson is graduating from high school Thursday night I cannot believe it. Congrats to you enjoy your time with her

George Souto  I cannot believe they did not have a back-up system. Thankfully my settlement is cash so we can push it up and don't have to worry about financing. There are so many people with serious issues because of this hack everyone is in a tizzy it makes me dizzy

Grant Schneider  The one that hit the City of Philadelphia is quite serious no one knows for sure what is going on.

Thank you for reading

Hi Hannah,
A perfectly good day can be spoiled with computer issues, can't it?  Glad you were able to get it fixed.  You have me wondering if I should be worried about having Grammarly on my computer.  I have the upgraded version. I wonder if that is more secure???  I wish hackers would go do something productive with their skills or curl up and...

Sorry you had a frustrating day on Friday! Did you have a nice evening?

Carol Williams  I deleted Gammarly and was advised not to use it again which i will not. Back to pick and peck.

That is was not the real issue it is the City of Philadelphia's Computers being hacked and not being able to settle properties . It is the last Paragraph of my post . Read George Souto comment on my post#18 , We are all walking on glass and trying to keep everyone calm.

I understand. I had read George's comment. It's frustrating m(and can cause hardship) for everyone when things don't go as planned, especially when it's so unnecessary.

Carol Williams  don't forget Philly is one of the largest cities in the country you would think they had a back-up system. Think about how many people are effected  by this crash

Posted by Hannah Williams, Expertise NE Philadelphia & Bucks 215-953-8818 (Re/Max Eastern inc.) 5 days ago

Hannah, so sorry to hear this happened, and I too downloaded Grammerly, maybe need to remove it also.  Unbelievable that the computers for the City crashed causing lots of problems!

Posted by Joan Cox, Denver Real Estate - Selling One Home at a Time (House to Home, Inc. - Denver Real Estate - 720-231-6373) 2 days ago

Joan Cox  I really mis Grammerly it made everything so easy but easy is not always the best way to go.

The City of Philadelphia Court computers being temporally shut down is so frustrating for everyone has no one knows how or when these computers will come back on line. Title commitments are being approved on an individual basis but then again there are also mortgage companies to also approve these title reports also -- thankfully my city closing is cash

Thank you for your professional input
