What am I thankful for about Active Rain -
There are so many things I am grateful for I could type all-day
I remember going to Rain Camp and meeting all the people I blogged with
The main speaker was this really down-to-earth guy that Bob Stewart introduced . He was dressed in The North-Face jacket and spoke about creating a long tall tail Niche. I found him fascinating. I absorbed everything he said like a dry sponge that was dropped into a bucket of water. He spoke for hours but it seemed like minutes. Bob would interject they had slide shows everything made sense. By the way, the speaker's name was Ben Kinney . He made a huge impression on me
This was not the last time I had heard Ben speak. I put what he taught into use and I can tell you it works. It does not happen overnight. It takes hard work and persistence but it does work. Let's face it anything worth doing does not come easy. It is a form of farming in fact it is internet farming. I use it with mail-outs like our own Barbara Todaro teaches us
Doing Internet Market Reports on a specific area monthly. I talk about these areas where to eat what goes on about the people activities I also try to advertise in the local paper. Try to be the local expert. You do not want to choose an area where there are many Real Estate agents working in that community. Start small work smart be persistent.
I learned all this on Active Rain and so much more. Combine Video Vlogging what you can learn is never-ending there is a wealth of knowledge on Active Rain. If you need help you can pick up the phone and call someone who will be more than glad to help you. Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD really know videos and Sheri Sperry - MCNE® knows photography.
I would have never believed I would have made such close friendships that I have formed in Active Rain that is worth more than anything else. We are like a family always there for each other always caring and thinking of each other for that I am really grateful.

Great post Hannah Williams and now we are all learning from you!
Carol Williams, You have highlighted some things and some terrific people that you are grateful for. I'm happy to say I know them all and I agree.
A good entry into this month's contest.
Hi Hannah- I would love to have attended a Rain Camp! I signed up to attend one that was being held in Miami but it was canceled and I already had plans for the Orlando Rain Camp. Love that you've learned so much here.
Hello Hannah - your special ActiveRain moment became a memory but it is also something that continues to work. And that "works".
OMG, I feel the SAME way about AR, Hannah! Love the picture and the story. As for the pic - I've met Patricia, Cindy & Ben also - in fact, Cindy has attended a meet-up that we had here in Charlotte and visited my home.
I can't WAIT to meet you in person!
I too have learned a lot through Active Rain Hannah Williams but unfortunately for me almost no one other then I picked up the AR ball and ran with it in the State of North Dakota.
Hi Hannah:
The AR Meet-ups and RainCamps have been such a special part of our community. Love that top photo! There is certainly a lot of gratitude in your post - thank YOU!

Good morning, Hannah... we do learn a lot here in the Rain from each other, don't we? And what's so wonderful is how freely everyone shares to help each other. That's one of the things that makes this platform so unique.
Hi Hannah Williams what a great blog expressing your thankfulness for being a blogger in the RAIN. Opening our minds to learn and build relationship's makes the RAIN platform a powerful tool in real estate.
I have learned so much from so many people that I follow in the Rain and I guess that is one of the biggest things that keeps me coming back day after day!
Hi Hannah Williams - that picture brings a smile seeing Ed Silva and Dagny Eason . We are really grateful to have so many mentors in Active Rain.
What a wonderful entry to the challenge! I just looked at my calendar and realized I only have one more day if I want to put in another entry. Where did this month GO?
What a treat to see that group again - even if just in a picture! Miss you all! Ben was always so helpful and great! I remember at one of the Active Rain raincamps someone "triple dared" me to get up on the stage - so I did and thanked all of the presenters! Such fun times! I think that was in Philly........ We all got a huge laugh - and I got to stand up there with the presenters for a second and thank them personally -
LOVE Active Rain!
Helloooo to everyone!
The triple dare either came from Debbie Gartner or from Ed Silva
Hannah, those Rain Camps were fun, I went to one in New Orleans at a NAR convention. Your photo reminds me of those no longer blogging - and so nice to see Dagny!
How kind and gracious are you? Thank you for the mention. As for AR, a wonderful platform and I am so thankful for it and the friendships. D
Dagny Eason It was probably Ed Silva as I wasn't there. I'm not sure if I had even started to blog then...or just started. I started July 2010 and we drove together to Atlantic City Raincamp in 2011 (maybe in April?).
But, I loved RainCamp, Hannah and I met many people in that picture. A great bunch of superstars.
We never attended any raincamp Hannah, but I'm sure it was a learning and FUN experience. Yes, we all get knowledge from this platform!
Hannah, what a lovely summary of the happy moments and aha's at Active Rain! I enjoyed reading it very much!
Hi Hannah Williams ! So many wonderful memories getting together with fellow rainers! Amazing really when I look back it's like - what an unexpected surprise and gift! So fun to see this photo again!
Hey sista Hannah Williams
I joined AR back in 2006 but never did participate in the RainCamps due to commitments at home and work. I do love reading about them, though. And, I love to do meetups during my various travels. I've been able to make some great connections with members in Idaho, Utah, Arizona, and California. Philadelphia will be on my route next Fall if travel is safe. WhooHoo!

Hi Hannah Williams - Great post! I only wish I would have known about ActiveRain earlier to participate in a Rain Camp. What you gained in those early camps was priceless.
Sheri Sperry - MCNE® We are still learning and making valuable friendships. One day I really believe we may say remember those Zoom meetings and all we learned. We are forever learning here in Rain. I value your friendship Sheri
I totally agree! The knowledge seems infinite here and that’s not a bad thing at all!
Hannah and Sheri Sperry - MCNE® , The friendships are an incredible bonus on here! I really enjoy all of you when I can get to talk to you! I apologize if I don’t get to respond all the time because of being busy. :)
I still think ActiveRain has been one of most educational tools I have used in my career. Thank you Hannah Williams
Laura Cerrano We all get busy it doesn't mean we do not care . I always appreciate your comments
Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS I must agree with you 100% unless you have experienced it I don't think you truly appreciate it
I agree with Paul, #58. AR has been a beneficial tool in so many ways, not just real estate. In addition to the education are the marketing ideas and invaluable information about other issues related or integrated in all aspects of real estate.
It's a real community that you can really engage with or be a passive participant. I especially like venting when I need to!
Kimo Jarrett I also agree with Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS he has hit the nail on the head
Mary Hutchison, SRES, ABR You are so right great place to blow off steam if you need too -
I am also thankful for all the information on Active Rain. I use Active Rain often when I trying to think of proper wording for a question or email!
Thank you very much for sharing some of your positive experience as a member of ActiveRain.
Joy Daniels You are a blessed member of the Active Rain platform
Roy Kelley Thank you for all your positive comments they are very much appreciated
Hannah Williams - What a lovely group of fine people! It's those humble beginning when we are starting to learn that make positive impressions. There's something magical when a group clicks, isn't there?
Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP We learned so much at the early Rain Camps they were fascinating and magical
I really do miss those early RainCamps! Why don't they reistate them? Fun to see those faces again! Thanks so much for posting this, Hannah!
Dagny Eason We had a wonderful time that day - enjoyed our time together - we learned so much and we met such wonderful people
I have been learning a lot here on AR and appreciate all the AR experts, like you, sharing your knowledge. Thank you!
